This tutorial is real fun and geeky..
What we will actually do here is we change the opera mini icon so that it looks nice when installed in our mobile. I shall use some free softwares also to make the icon and Winrar to edit the jar file.
Step 1: Choose your icon. It should be a .PNG image. A transparent background is preferable. If you don’t have nice png icons then try this website and download from here.. I usually download from here.. http://www.freeiconsweb.com/free_icons.html
Step 2: Once you get the icon you need to resize it. After resize the size should be 48 x 48 Pixel. Here is a free online tool to resize.. I like this tool very much and its very user friendly. Just upload your image and resize and then save. http://gui.picresize.com/picresize2/
Step 3: So now you have your resized image. Now rename it to i.png
Step 4: Download opera mini from here. http://www.operamini.com/download/pc/
Select the appropriate model and save the jar file in your computer.
Step 5: Right click and open with WinRar.
Step 6: Just select the new i.png image you created and pull and place it in winRar. It will ask you that you want to paste it or not. Select OK.
Thats it. Now send the jar to your mobile or install it from your pc to your mobile. Here is what you will get.
Did you like that! Try some cool icons.. Let me know if you face any problem. It would be really nice if you give your comments.
Thanks,

wow.. cool.. THANKS..

You can follow this tutorial!
Procedure:
Tools that you will need
1. Unsis 2.5 and Xplore
2. an app with the desired icon to change the original icon (for example best call recorder to change TotalRecall icon)
3. Now use Unsis to unpack Bestcall recorder and extract it.
4. Look for the file called BCallRecorder_0x2000FE5A_aif.mif
5. name it to TotalRecall.mif (you must know the real app name in this case is like I wrote but can chage (sometimes could appear with UID: BCallRecorder_0x2000FE5A_aif)[/color])
6. Send the TotalRecall.mif to your phone (I use Bluetooth to send it to my inbox).
7. Search it it xplore.
8. Once you fond the file just replace it in C: or E: \resource\apps\paste it.
9. go to you menu and voilá the BestCallRecorder icon is now a TotalRecall icon
Hi. I actually fixed it after posting the comment. The pixel size is not really a big deal as long as it stays under 64×64 or so. The thing is you need to change the .jad file as well where it says the “Midlet JAR size”. Once you update the JAR with the new icon the size of the JAR file changes which needs to match in the respective JAD file. So it’s sorted. Anyhow, do you know if its possible to change the icon once the installation is done? I have gazillion bookmarks with favicons which I dont want to recreate it. Using Opera links does not sync from mobile> link server.

Hi Vajid,
I have tried the tutorial my self and then posted so it should work.. have you checked your png size.. the pixel.. if you are still facing the problem then send me the jar file you created along with the png and yourmobile model details. Also let me know if you have customised the correct version of opera.. because there are various versions of opera for differnt mobiles..
When I try this method then it gives me the following message on installation: “Invalid jar file”
I have done everything exactly the way it’s mentioned including the resize and transparent PNG file.
Any idea?
