This plugin lets you show a different greeting message to your visitors depending on their referrer url. For example, when a Digg user clicks through from Digg, they will see a message reminding them to digg your post if they like it. Another example, when a visitor clicks through from google search they will see a message suggesting them to subscribe to your RSS feed. Having these targeted suggestions will help your blog increase exposure, loyal readership, and reader interaction so all together it should increase your page hits.

Today this Greet Box is used by thousands of sites which gets tracked in my  analytic account. Not sure how many are using after removing my analytic code. So end of the day its serves the purpose.

1) var themeColor = ‘yellow’; <– This can be red, grey, yellow, green, white. White is default.
2) var font = ‘Josefin’;  <– This can be Josefin or Tangerine. Blank will use the websites default

A QR Code is a matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera, and smartphones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.

Now as you can see in this site i have added a dynamic QR code on each post. So for each post a dynamic QR code gets generated. Very simple use of third party sites.

I did a bit of web search and figured out there are mainly 2 websites which provide QR <Embed> code. I just modified them a bit with javascripts. You can use any one of the two.

TO USE:  Just copy-paste any where in your website and it should start working.

1) goqr.me

To change the image size just modify the “size=150×150” to what ever equal value you want.

2) kaywa.com

To change the image size just modify the “s=5” value to what ever you want. Highest is 12.

NB: The bigger the image better for lower end mobiles because of there lower camera capability.

I am using the same theme in this blog but for my requirement i have modified the theme and as a part of contribution i want to share this theme with every one Many of my regular visitors and some of DD visitors liked this modification and emailed me to share the theme and here it goes. Please find the download link below.

What has been modified:

1) Single post page has been single column now.

2)Landing page post content has more width then before.

3)Search box yellow background was breaking in various browser and that has been fixed.

4) Landing page navigation to older post has been removed as it was not working. A link has been added for navigation. Modify it with your link. Navigation works on other pages.

I saw your comment on the design desease theme page.
Seems you haven’t got any problem to use the feature
post and the feature-image function with the tipz theme.
Smarter than me … Could you give me a hint about choosing
the featured post and the featured image ? I tired to create the
category and a custom field but it doesn’t work. I can’t get any
answer on the theme page, so i try to find help among users of
this theme …

I am posting Francois email here because i know many of us faced the same problem.

2 steps to get the image on the top post:
1) Create a custom field for your latest post. feature-image
2) The content of the field should be as shown in the image below.The class used is

class=”alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-2040″

Navigate to Admin Console
Now navigate to Plugins –> Installed
Select all your activated Plugins and from bulk action drop down deactivate all of them.
Now try running the update again and this time it will work.
Now activate all your plugins again.

Just navigate to Settings –> Permalink and select anything except the default option.

404 page should come up.
